Motif and meaning

The white rabbit represents the entry into the Bitcoin rabbit hole. Like Alice, you first follow a trail out of curiosity - and step by step discover a new perspective on money, freedom and responsibility.

Also in The Matrix, Neo's journey begins with the prompt "Follow the White Rabbit". The rabbit thus becomes a symbol for the moment when you question the familiar surface and begin to search for the truth yourself - a rather fitting metaphor for getting into Bitcoin.

The temporary logo that became permanent

For Dezentralshop, the motif has a second meaning too: the white rabbit was originally only intended as a temporary logo. The motif comes from an old graffiti stencil from teenage days. A photo of it was cut out in Photoshop and promptly used as a placeholder while building the website.

Then the launch came - and the rabbit stayed. Today it's probably the longest-lived stopgap at Dezentralshop and a firm part of our identity.
