The Specter Shield Lite is a Bitcoin hardware wallet for everyone who wants to combine maximum security with full transparency. As an open-source hardware wallet with a Secure Element, it gives you the full functionality of the well-known Specter DIY - plus a professional level of extra security: a swappable smartcard with a Secure Element for especially well-protected storage of your seed phrase.

This makes the Specter Shield Lite ideal for Bitcoiners who want to manage their own keys for the long term and sovereignly - without compromises.

To create a seed entirely offline, you can draw the words with the SeedSticks record them on a Seedcard and then enter them into the Specter to create a SeedQR.

Large touch display for easy operation

The generous touch display enables intuitive and convenient use. You navigate effortlessly through all menus, scan QR codes directly with the device or enter seed words conveniently. All sensitive actions take place visibly and transparently on the hardware itself - with no hidden background processes.

Secure Element with PIN protection

If you want to store your seed especially securely, you can optionally save it on the smartcard with a Secure Element. Access is protected by a PIN. After 10 incorrect entries, the chip is rendered unusable and the stored data is permanently erased - not recoverable even with specialised hardware. This keeps your seed reliably protected against physical attacks.

Swappable smartcards for flexible setups

Unlike many other hardware wallets, the Secure Element in the Specter Shield Lite is not permanently built in. You can use several smartcards with different seeds - ideal for:

• Backup wallets
• Family wallets
• Multisig setups
• separate accounts (e.g. savings and everyday wallet)

This keeps your security concept flexible and scalable.

No seed storage by default

True to the principle of "don't trust, verify", the Specter Shield Lite does not store your seed by default. Secured storage in the Secure Element only happens if you deliberately choose it. You retain full control over your security architecture at all times.

Fully air-gapped for maximum security

The Specter Shield Lite operates fully air-gapped. Communication takes place exclusively via QR codes or SD card. Even if your computer or smartphone is compromised, your private keys remain offline and protected. This minimises the risk of remote attacks and malware.
