Portal is the hardware wallet for mobile users: built to keep your private keys safe and to integrate seamlessly into any supported mobile wallet app. NFC, without compromises.

Even with a hardware wallet designed for mobile use, you should keep the recovery seed phrase offline and separate from the device – for example with the Steelwallet Swiss Complete Edition.

NFC instead of cables and batteries

Portal uses NFC technology, the same standard as contactless credit cards, to communicate securely with any modern smartphone. The device works entirely without cables and without a battery: it is powered completely via NFC. Just hold it to your smartphone, done.

Confirm transactions clearly

When signing, Portal guides you through all the relevant parts of the transaction. You check the details directly on the device and confirm them with a single button press. This way you always keep full control over what you are signing.

Compatible with your wallet apps

As a companion app you can use Nunchuk or Bitcoin Keeper , both of which support single-signature as well as multisig setups. Further wallet apps are being integrated and will follow in the coming months.

Secure from the factory

Every Portal is shipped in a tamper-evident security envelope. On first power-on, the device displays a unique serial number that must match the envelope and the box. If a new device immediately shows the ready screen, you should not use it. You can find detailed instructions in the Getting Started guide from Twenty Two.
