Xellox Yokis - write like pen & paper, store like steel

Three black-anodized 304 stainless-steel plates and a handy engraver that etches each word like ink. No stamps, no hammering, no loose small parts - just a hand movement and a line of steel that outlives the paper it replaced.

Three plates, three ways to use them

Pick the backup strategy that matches your threat model:

• Redundant single-sig: Engrave the same 24 words on all three plates and store them in three separate locations - home, family, bank box. Lose one plate (or two), recover from the third.
• Split backup: Shard a single seed across the plates (Shamir, or a simple split you trust). No single plate recovers the wallet on its own - attackers need two, so do you.
• Multisig cosigners: Running a 2-of-3 multisig? One plate per cosigner key - a dedicated piece of steel for every share of the wallet, out of the box.

For this type of 2-of-3 multisig setup, one suitable option is the Specter Shield Lite, which supports air-gapped signing and flexible multisig setups.

How Yokis works

• 1. Generate offline: Generate a BIP39 seed on your hardware wallet. Keep the session airgapped and don't photograph the words.
• 2. Write with the engraver: Charge the detachable battery with any USB-C cable. Click the pen on and write each word on its numbered row - feels like a ballpoint, cuts like steel.
• 3. Store geographically: Put each plate somewhere different - home, family, vault. The plates survive fire, water and decades of time without any power source.
